At THRS we are passionate about growing HR capability and working with HR teams to support them to manage their most expensive and critical asset, their people. We help our clients understand where they are now, diagnose what is working and what needs to change, where they want to get to, and help them prioritise the steps to get there.
We love to co-design programs and projects where we can bring our deep HR expertise and combine it with our client’s internal knowledge to create solutions that make a real difference and are sustainable well after we leave.
Using data and evidence-based approaches we work with our clients across a range of areas and in a range of ways to address their issues and create solutions that will help and achieve better results. We understand that the needs of every client are different, so we offer a range of HR services aligned to what we see are the key focus areas of organisational and people strategy.
We provide independent advice and assurance to Boards and Senior Executives that the organisational culture (values, beliefs, shared assumptions and norms) it has set, are aligned, lived and will ensure that the organisation strategy is implemented. And if not we work with them to understand the culture that is needed, and how they can move towards the required culture.
Culture change is hard but necessary, and we fundamentally believe that leaders must be involved in and own the creation and development of the organisation’s culture through the organisation’s evolution.
Change is inevitable and organisations have to be able to shift and adapt as required by external forces and to meet business outcomes if they are going to survive. We work with organisations to design and implement team structures at the individual business level, or organisational level, that enable execution of strategy.
We consider the impact of change at all levels, and support our clients to plan for this, create communication plans and implementation strategies, and to measure the effectiveness of the new structure over time.
We work with senior business leaders, HR executives and boards to assess and audit HR programs, organisational culture and workforce plans to ensure they are fit to purpose and aligned to business outcomes and organisational strategy. As the saying goes, culture eats strategy for breakfast and never before has this been so important. Since the Royal Commission into the Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, and the publication of Commissioner Hayne’s final report, organisation culture has become a central governance theme and responsibility of senior leaders.
Our assurance and audit approach is fit for purpose and scaleable, working with clients to review culture, workforce plans or other HR programs to measure the effectiveness of these and highlight gaps. Depending on the needs of our client, and the program being reviewed, we start with a deep dive into the organisational strategy finding links to the program outcomes and ensuring they are aligned. From here we can understand where the program/s are not aligned to strategy and start to ask questions of why and what needs to be done to find this alignment.
Our CEO and senior advisors work one on one with senior business leaders and boards on management of sensitive people issues and scenarios and advise on the steps to be taken to best manage issues and seek outcomes. We provide advice and conduct research in cases of misconduct bringing together the evidence and using contemporary HR law and policy to ensure these cases are resolved quickly that are in the best interests of the organisation and all individuals involved.
As workforce planning specialists we have worked our clients to write their workforce plans from Branch and Group level through to Enterprise level. We guide our clients through the process of collecting, analyzing, forecasting, and planning workforce supply and demand, assessing gaps, and determining target talent management interventions to ensure that an organization has the right people with the right skills in the right places at the right time.
We run workshops and teach HR practitioners best practice workforce planning, but even in cases where we are developing the workforce plan on behalf of our clients we ensure there is upskilling of the HR persons we are working alongside.
As more is being asked of HR by the business it is getting harder to find great HR practitioners. We can assist organisations in finding those amazing professionals for permanent roles, by utilising our established networks and connections. We know how critical HR capability is to organisations and this must start with HR itself.
Assess our HR workforce to ensure they have the tools and capabilities they need to be great HR practitioners. It is our view that not just anyone can “do HR” and HR practitioners require a particular level of capability in key HR behaviours to thrive and have a real impact on the business they serve.
We design and deliver workshops including off the shelf, co design and bespoke offerings. Our existing courses and expertise of HR practice areas can be delivered in a micro-learning, coaching or face-to-face approach, with groups from as small as 2 up to 200, in the following areas:
